For many years I was a visiting artist at the Royal Bristol Children’s Hospital making mini-puppet shows and larger puppets with children and teenagers either at their bedside, on their beds, in the playrooms or in the school room. I often use collage from designated books and a variety of magazines as a quick and vibrant way to add colour, pattern and imagery to their work; this way they are able to be less judgmental about their artistic ability and also to think outside the box because drawing skill is not an issue.
